#BATTLE FOR MIDDLE EARTH MAP UPGRADE#
As it finishes, you should be able to upgrade everything. The second wave proper has more of the same that you've been killing, and won't be a problem. The second wave may start with a group of enemy archers leftover from the first wave. Two siege towers and a few catapults will bring up the rear, but they may not actually attack. Once they get bored of that and head to your walls, they will fall very quickly from your arrows and rocks. The first wave will attack your four farms that are outside your keep. Like last time, never take the fight to the enemy, no matter how clear it looks just stay on defense. The screenshots below show how your troops need to be placed. You probably will not have time to buy any upgrades, but get them from all your buildings when you can. Spend the remaining time to check your economy and troop placement. Give Pippen his own team and keep him far away from the action.īecause of the number of your starting troops, you'll probably not need to create any units. Faramir will too, but his primary job is to pull a Legolas with his bow and pick off anyone who comes near the gate. Boromir and Gandalf will run interception if anyone gets on the walls. If you've got Boromir, put him on Faramir's side. Put Gandalf on one side, and Faramir on the other. Put the other team on the right of the main gate.

Team one together and pile them on the ramparts to the left of the main gate. Once Faramir's rangers appear, get them inside the gates, then close the gates behind them. However, your reinforcements will be coming from the north, and they'll have to get in some way. This prevents units your units from easily getting in and out, but the enemy will bring a couple new surprises, and trebuchets will be the key to handling them.

Create trebuchets on every single wall Foundation, except for the one farthest north. Make sure you have a blacksmith and a couple archery ranges near the main gate.

You know how to start with the economy by now. This will actually be easier than Helm's Deep, mostly because of your obscene power the rangers. You have come to another fun survival-type mission, this one in The City of Kings. Start creating archers and rangers, and when your army is full, send them north to the small fortress. Whack everyone there and establish your own Outpost. Go east from where you fought it, and you'll encounter a lightly guarded Camp. After it's dead, look around its small room for more treasure and soldiers. You should use Sam's Phial at least once to throw the spider into confusion, which should give your small team a few free shots. He's pretty tough, so you'll probably lose several of your rescued soldiers. Also grab any treasure chests you see, as you'll need the resources soon.Įventually you'll stumble upon a giant spider named Shelob. Travel the entire western area, and keep your eyes open for the soldiers. These are single soldiers who are stuck in the sticky silk and must be cut free from Sam.

The cave is full of little spiders, and they are typically guarding one or more webbed units. Sam is your only starting unit for this mission, which is divided into two parts. The best place to do that is inside a cave of spiders. Sam has misplaced Frodo and must seek him out.
